Sue Reddish

Sue has developed her own mixed media process that combines paint, print and prominently hand stitch. Whilst the final pieces are often abstract, they are based on observation of the world around her. Her current work is about a city that is changing and modernising, she is interested ultimately in our place in the world: where and what we call home and how the physical and changing nature of that impacts on us over time. Sue is drawn to the accidental marks, patina and general wear and tear of this urban space where she  records the abstract marks of the city. She is particularly interested in researching and presenting the often untold stories of a place or of group of people and her previous career as a theatre director still influences her desire to find and share stories in her textile work. She is drawn to the gritty rather than the pretty, the worn and used in contrast with the new.

Sue is also a member of PRISM textiles an international exhibiting group showcasing high quality fine art textile practice. For more info please visit:
